The History of Hungeling & Sons, P.C.
Hungeling & Sons was founded October 1, 1984 by William M. Hungeling after a fourteen year career with the IRS. The first non-family member was hired the next year.
The first client was a grading and hauling company that developed real estate. Work done for them and other clients at that time consisted mainly of income tax compliance work.
In May 1986, the firm purchased a small house located at Clairmont and Mason Mill, a high-traffic location that provided great visibility for the Hungeling distinctive blue sign.
In January 1994, William J. Hungeling (Billy) joined the firm while beginning his studies towards a Masters Degree in Taxation at Georgia State University.
In July 1999, the firm moved to its location in the Park Central building on Clairmont.
In February 2001, another son, Michael, joined the firm after four years at KPMG LLP in Atlanta, a "Big-Four" national CPA firm.
In December 2007, Hungeling & Sons moved to its current location on Peachtree Street in midtown Atlanta. In Oct 2008, the firm was pleased to have daughter, Teresa Ebbs, join Hungeling & Sons as the Director of Operations following a five year career at The Home Depot. The firm's current client base has grown to over 400 individual income tax returns and over 200 business tax returns per annum. The client database covers a wide spectrum of small businesses from service industries, retail, distributors and investors.
